FAQ

Anti-ageing Treatments

How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?

The duration of the results lasts for around 3 – 4 months. We advise all of our patients that during the first year of anti-wrinkle injections treatment, you may need to have the treatment done approximately 3 times.

After the first year of anti-wrinkle treatments, it is suggested that you have anti-wrinkle injections applied only twice per year, this allows muscle recovery time. If you are continually having the treatment, it may only need to be applied once a year. One of the main benefits of having this cosmetic treatment completed is that you can immediately see the results of the anti-wrinkle injections.

Who is suitable for anti-wrinkle injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections are suitable for patients that wish to reduce the appearance of forehead lines, frown lines or wrinkles around their eyes. We are often asked where anti-wrinkle injections should be applied to reduce the signs of ageing, this is different for every patient, however, the most popular places are:

  • The forehead/brow

  • Between the eyes

  • Sides of the eyes

What will the treatment involve?

Anti-wrinkle injections are one of the quickest cosmetic treatments available at Gemini Faces. The treatment will involve a practitioner making a series of small injections into the muscles of your face. The injection process itself will only take a few minutes.

Are anti-wrinkle injections safe?

Anti-wrinkle injections have been used for many years. Since their introduction, four decades ago anti-wrinkle injection treatments have become very popular to treat hyperhidrosis, relax muscles, and achieve different cosmetic results.

Anti-wrinkle injections are safe when they are completed by a trained medical practitioner. Medical practitioners must have the appropriate training to complete this non-surgical treatment, the risks are extremely minimal.

Do anti-wrinkle injections hurt?

This is a non-surgical treatment, therefore, the procedure is largely pain-free. If you are uncomfortable with needles you may feel mild discomfort which is experienced due to the small needle injection.

What happens after anti-wrinkle injections?

Any anti-wrinkle injections practitioner will advise you to carry on with your day as normal. At the Gemini Faces, we advise that patients avoid strenuous activity, saunas and other facial treatments for up to 24 hours after the treatment. The results from anti-wrinkle injections can be seen almost immediately. After 4-10 days of having undergone treatment, you will notice an improvement in your lines and wrinkles. You should not have any facials for 2 weeks after your treatment.

What are the possible side effects?

If you are worried about the side effects of anti-wrinkle injections, then please book a consultation. Some of the side effects which are associated with anti-wrinkle injections are short-lived and mild, the most common being mild bruising to the site of the injection. Some patients also report mild headaches shortly after the treatment, but these usually subside within 24 hours.

Who Should Not Use Anti-wrinkle injections?

If you are considering having anti-wrinkle treatment, then you should always book a consultation. There is a selection of people who are advised not to have this type of treatment:

  • The injection site is infected

  • You are allergic to any of the ingredients

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding

If you are still unsure if you are suited for anti-wrinkle injections treatment then a full list of side effects and cautions will be discussed at a face-to-face consultation.
